BACKGROUND
What is the Civilian Military Combine (CMC)?
CMC is the premier race event in the fast growing obstacle course adventure race space. CMC provides the best designed, most exhilarating and unique format of any race available to the public. Designed for all level athletes to test strength, endurance and agility, CMC’s race day structure consists of the adrenaline pumping strength element called “The PIT” transitioning into an exhilarating military grade obstacle course race. The difficulty of the CMC competition is determined by the competitor and attracts both weekend warriors looking for the ultimate challenge as well as competitive athlete looking to win.
What is the philosophy behind Civilian Military Combine?
The philosophy behind the CMC is to combine both strength and endurance to find the most well rounded athlete. As fitness has become apart of our every days lives and as science has proven over the last few decades, focusing our time training just on strength or just on endurance as a way to stay in shape and be as healthy is not what is best for the human body. The Civilian Military Combine sought to not only combine both strength and endurance into a one day competition and event but at the same time honor and allows civilians to pay homage to the men and woman that serve our country. It allows both military and civilians to run alongside one another as well as support the concept of training your body in its entirety.
Who created the Civilian Military Combine?
This race structure has been carefully created, refined and reviewed by the top strength and conditioning coaches from the Cross Fit community, United States Armed Forces and USA Triathlon Organization Race Directors.
Is Civilian Military Combine the same as other events out there like the Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, etc?
The CMC is NOT like other events that are currently in the adventure race space.
The CMC is a strength and endurance competition that allows competitors to test themselves in the different environments our world provides.
The CMC has different race series which take place in different terrains please review the following…- CMC Mountain Assault Series- This race series challenges the competitors in mountainous terrain. Be expected to run through plenty of MUD, streams, mountains, trail runs, forests, etc etc.
- CMC Urban Assault Series- This series challenges the competitor in an Urban setting. Be expected to face some MUD obstacles, lifts and carries (Sand bags and Bucket carrries), running on harder terrain such as concrete, packed dirt and trails. You will be faced with car climbs, ladder walls, hudles, wall climbs, cargo nets and anything found in an Urban environment
- CMC Beach Assault Series-This series challenges the competitor in a beach environment. Be prepared to face running/ walking or jogging in sand, sand obstacles, some water obstacles (PLEASE NOTE: all water obstacles will have safety lines if over 3 feet deep or any water current is involved In the obstacle) wall obstacles, lift and carries, tunnels and much more
